IJS is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors. Contributions to IJS are tax-deductible. Our dedicated supporters have enabled us to maintain the quality of IJS programs. For those of you who have not participated in the past, we encourage you to become involved: there are few institutions that do so much for your children.
The tuition from our summer sailing program covers operating costs, but we depend on donor support to help cover major repair and replacement of our boats and floats. The IJS fleet currently includes 23 sailboats, five safety motorboats, seven boat trailers and five floating docks. That’s right, 28 boats and lots of related equipment! Thanks to donor support, we’ve been able to upgrade five of the sailboats, replacing older models with newer ones. The generosity of our donors makes all the difference!
