Sarah joined the Board driven by a desire to give back to the IJS community after learning to sail through the program herself.  She values the confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills that she learned in the program, and wants to help continue to make this experience available for future generations. She is a former IJS Program Director, Level 2 sailing instructor and competitively raced throughout high school and college (mainly 420’s and FJs). She also started to explore open water sailing, with her longest trip including a sail from Rhode Island to Bermuda, and Bermuda to Tortola British Virgin Islands. She looks forward to continuing to support the program, expanding access to sailing, and helping youth sailors grow both on and off the water.
